ANNUAL SCHOOL REPORT (2019-20)

 

The consistent upward graph of the achievement of Rosemary Public School, Sunam is highlighted in the Annual School Report 2019-20. The school management would like to thank each one for being a part of the glorious journey. The year 2019 commenced on a wonderful note when the result of class 10th CBSE Board examination was declared. Out of total 67 students , 5  students secured more than 90% marks. 24 students secured more than 80%  and 20 students secured more than 70% marks:-

What is more commendable is that out of total 30 students 5 students  secured more than 90% marks. 9 students secured more than 80% marks in   Class 12th CBSE results:-

We strive to make our students successful learners, confident individuals and responsible citizens. As part of their grooming process, the students take part in different curricular and co-curricular activities.

Our pupils of all the classes   walked into the school with new energy and enthusiasm to commence the new academic year filled with new dreams and surprises. On the Ist day of the new session, they were warmly welcomed at the school assembly and then initiated into the entire year’s programme by their class-teachers.

Co-scholastic activities at school are designed in groups so that students can participate along with their classmates. 

"Leaders are not born but are made by their experiences in life”.

To enable students to get a first hand feel of democracy and to know their rights and duties, a school Investiture Ceremony was held and Madhav Katyal and Sakshi of class X were selected as the Head Boy and Head Girl respectively on 15th of April.

A trip to fun park was also organized in this month for all the classes from Nursery to 3rd. Students of classes 4th, 5th took active part in Pot Decoration and classes 6th, 7th prepared Wind-Chimes as a part of their co-curricular activity. To develop the Culinary Skills, students of class 10th (girls) prepared Suji Halwa and Class 10th Boys actively participated in Salad Making. 

A number of activities were organized  in the month of May. Class Nursery to 3rd had Poem Recitation competition on Mother’s day  in all 3 languages (English/Hindi/Punjabi), Class 4th, 5th went for Calligraphy Competition, 6th and 7th class participated in Slogan Writing (on saving our environment), Class 8th took part in Poster Making (on environment) , Class 9thCanvas Painting on environment and Class 10th had an Extempore on our environment. 

To ensure that the students develop their academic skills, our school has taken different initiatives through-out the year. Academics are being tested in the form of Unit Tests and Term Examinations and the best one among the two Unit Tests in both the terms are marked. 

During the month of July, students were indulged in different activities to beat away the scorching heat. Nursery to 1st had a splash Pool Activity, 2nd – 3rd classes had Word-Power activity. 4th class indulged in Gift-Wrapping, Class 5th was guided to Interpret the Maps. 6th and 7th class prepared Menu for the school break. Class 8th actively took part in preparation of Cheese Cutlets. Class 9th participated in Debates and Quiz Class 10th was given the activity of Prantha Making (Boys) and girls to prepare the Fruit Chat. All the students also prepared PPT in S.S.T

"Nothing is more precious than Independence and Liberty”. The school celebrated the Independence Day, a red-letter day in the history of India. This festival is celebrated every year with great pomp and show. The Principal of the school hoisted the national flag in the morning assembly.  All the students and teachers saluted the flag and sang National Anthem, then followed the cultural programme. Some students presented patriotic group dance and a religion-based skit. The programme ended with the Principal’s speech. At the end of the ceremony sweets were distributed among the students.

August was the month full of colourful activities. Class Nursery to 2nd participated in Fancy Dress competition, Class 3rd prepared the Sandwiches. Class 5th made Bhelpuri and also took part in situation description. Class 6th participated in spray painting, Class 7th in Fabric Painting, Class 6th and 7th also took part in Essay and Story Writing. Class 8th (girls) took part in Mehndi Competition and boys made beautiful Rangoli Designs. They also indulged in Diary Entries. Class 9th took part in Dining Table setting and went for Plantation Drive. For Class 10th there was Declamation and Debate Competition in English, Hindi and Punjabi Languages.Krishna Janamashtami was also celebrated in the school.

"Teaching is the profession that teaches all other professions”. On 5thof September the birthday of Mr. Sarverpalli Radhakrishnan was celebrated by paying respect and gratitude towards the teaching faculty. Many teachers were honoured for their exceptional efforts towards their students.

Other than this, there were a number of activities which were being organized in the school. Under the supervision of Mrs Anu Gupta, Students of Eco Clubplanted trees on 03.08.2019to protect the environment.

Cleanliness Drive for Swachh Bharat was organized during the month of Sept from 1st to 15thSept to creat mass awareness. From 9th to 15th September Reading Week was observed in the school so as to enrich the subject activities. Under the ‘Swachchta Hi Sewa’ Campaign Plastic Waste Management was organized to generate maximum awareness among the students and residents of the area.

"Happiness is when what you think, what you do and what you say are in harmony”- Mahatma Gandhi. 150th Birth Anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi was celebrated in the school to spread the message of peace and harmony through beautiful illustrations prepared by the students in the form of drawings and slogans.

During the month of October, the aura of activities involvedRamLeela performance by the students of different classes and Dussehra celebration by making and burning of Effigy of Ravana.  Other activities during the month involved Flower Making with pencil shavings for Kindergarten, for class 1st it was making Faces usingThumb Impression and Threads. Class 2nd made beautiful colouredNapkin Flowers and they pasted in the scrap book. Class 3rd took part in Puppet Making activity. There was also Quiz (Punjabi/Hindi) competition for class 3rd students. Also, beautiful Thalis were decorated by class 3rd students on the occasion of Diwali celebration. For class 4th and 5th October month had Story Telling competition along with S.SC Quiz. Classes 6th to 10th had dance performance along with Rangoli Making competition and making things out of waste which were later on displayed on the PTM. 

 

Celebrations of ‘Rashtriya Ekta Divas’ was conducted on 31st of October to commemorate the Birth Anniversary of Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel, who really unified the country. The students of class 10th, 11th and 12th took part in the rally ‘Run for Unity’ which started from the heart of the city Mata Modi Chowkto Railway crossing near Bus Stand. They carried with them the banners and posters in order to spread the message of unity and security.

"It is easier to build strong children than to repair broken men”. Commemorating the birthday of the ardent lover of children and roses, Pandit Jawahar Lal Nehru, we celebrated the Children’s Day with great fun and frolic. Fancy Dress competition and Dance Competition were the main highlights of the day. The most spectacular and exciting event of the school – The 3 Day Sports Carnival – for all the classes was organized.

In the month of November, there was Table Recitation competition for class 1st and Picture MakingCompetition for class 2nd along with another activity of Card Making. Classes 4th and 5th had SkitCompetition, ClayMoulding competition to beat out the boredom from their routine work.

In November, inter school English speech Extempore was organized in which junior and senior students actively participated. Prizes were given to the winners. A Painting CompetitiononEnergyConservation was conducted in which classes 4th to 9th took part and two best paintings from each group (4th-6th) and (7th-9th), were selected and sent to the nodal officer.

"All work and No play makes Jack a dull-boy”. 3rd and 4th week of Nov, 2019 was observed as ‘Fit India School week’.At the end of the month, a Sports Meet was organized in which students of all the classes  participated.

To reinforce the Significance and Importance of Constitution, the school conducted a quiz contest for class 9th and 10thon 26th November in which all the students participated. The students also wroteSlogans on constitution and education.

December month was again full of rejuvenation. Class Nursery had an activity to maintain Body Hygiene. Class 1st had Mono-Acting and Class 2nd performed Drama and Play along with Poem Recitation. Class 4th and 5th beautifully depicted the Role Play along with other activities of declamation.

A seminar was organized in the school campus on 11.12.2019 regarding JuvenileJustice, TrafficRules, EmergencyNo. 112, crime against women etc. In which Hon’ble S.P- Mr. Gurmeet Singh laid stress on the participation of games along with the studies to keep one’s mind and body healthy.

With a view to be constructive and dynamic professionals and to make their teaching effective for the Holistic Development, our teachers participated in a variety of Motivational Sessions and Teacher Training programmes..

A Well-Being Programme was organized by the school on 6thJan. 2020 to stream the bond between teachers and the students. Theme plan was given to each teacher according to their class and the way to implement was discussed.

The month of January, Nursery class had the activity related to Recognition of Shapes, LKG-dealt with Colour and Articles and UKG presented a Self– Introduction. Class 1st had an activity of Spell Bee to enhance the vocabulary and also, they learnt to make a daily food chart. Class 2nd students had a Calligraphy Competition whereas for Class 3rd we organized EVS/Maths/English Quiz.Class 4th and 5th also participated in English/Maths/Science Quiz to sharpen their Mental Ability. A beautiful Collage was prepared group wise by classes 3rd to 5th.Class 6th to 10th students prepared Maths Models so that they can excel by growing with practical aspects. Students made beautiful Collages on Punctuation marks in English.Republic Day was celebrated in the school with great enthusiasm.

On 25th Feb 2020, A Seminar was conducted by the District Legal Services Authority SangrurandMr. Surinder Singh provided the students and staff with necessary information related to POSCO.

The school bade farewell to class +2 students with plenty of good wishes for a bright and successful future. Respected principal, Chairman and founder of the school blessed all the students.

Celebrating events and festivals in schools have become an integral part of learning and building a strong cultural belief. To inculcate in them a strong bond of unity in diversity all festivals like Baisakhi, Janamashtmi, Dussehra, Diwali, Christmas etc were celebrated with great pomp and show.

The school celebrated its annual Rose Utsav on 29th of December 2019the at the school premises. The school was decorated elegantly. A grand stage had been set up. Mr. Ghanshyam Kansal ( Distt President SDIC Sangrur) , had been invited as the chief guest and Mrs. Komal Kansal as the Guest of Honour. It was indeed a memorable experience to witness hundreds of students from classes Nursery to 12th on the stage showcasing their talents and performances. All the participants and Staff members were honoured with prizes.

It adds joy to mention that all the phenomenal students who excelled in academics, Sports and co-curricular activities were honoured with medals certificates , trophies and prizes by Honourable Chief Guest. We take pride in announcing that even alumni were also invited and honoured who had brought laudable laurels to the school. 

Like every year, this year also the students of Rosemary brought laurels to school in sports by winning different state and national awards in different fields. Over all the following no. of students participated in games mention below at state level.

Preet Kaur of Class 10th won Silver medal in gymnastic at state level. Parminder Kaur of Class 8th won Silver medal in gymnastic in state level. Gurvir Singh of Class 4th won gold medal in Taekwando(open) in national level. Mishika of Class 5th won Gold medal in wusho at state level. Priyanshi of Class 5th also won Gold medal in wusho at state level. Gurhsan Singh of Class 7th won Silver medal in skating and Gold medal in skating hockey at state level. Jaspreet Kaur of class 9th won silver medal in skating hockey and Jasreet Kaur of Class 6th won Gold medal in skating hockey at state level. These children added feather to the cap of school and the school is proud of them and also congratulates the parents for their co-operation and support.
